Mira Mesa Women's Club
What is a Comfort Pillow:  It's a small, soft, washable pillow a
patient can use to relieve discomfort. It can reduce the amount of pain
and provide both physical and emotional comfort during treatment and

This is a service to those with Breast Cancer - both women
and men- who have undergone treatment - usually lumpectomy or
mastectomy, chemotherapy, radiation, and even reconstructive
surgery.
How does this Project Work?  Anyone can request a pillow(s),
whether it be for themselves, a friend, or a family member. From
comments we have received, the pillow is indeed a comfort during this
difficult time.  The pillows are FREE.

This is a favorite project of our club.  
In 2008, we sent over 3,769 pillows!!!
We  make and distribute these pillows ourselves.    We, as
well as our volunteers who donate their time, find making these
pillows to be very rewarding.  We are grateful to all who help us make
this project so successful: our volunteers, the stores who donate
materials and stuffing, and those who donate money to cover the cost
of the project (example mailing costs).
Chalk the Walk
Since the project began in 1995, we have sent out over 50,000
pillows.  We ship pillows all over the United States, and are also
shipping Internationally.
