$$$$ for ART - Grant
Educators! Here is an opportunity to receive money for a special art project.
Chalk the Walk is a project of the Mira Mesa Women’s Club to raise funds for our
schools’ visual arts programs. Proceeds from the festival will be used to make
grants to high school, junior high, and elementary teachers.
An example of the grants we will award (but are not limited to) is for the
purchase of materials used in specific projects such as murals, calligraphy,
guest artists, and projects that enrich other curriculum areas.
REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITS:
- We do fund material expenses, but cannot fund salaries, travel, hospitality,
or food expenses.
- We cannot fund any projects based on a religious theme or political
ideology.
- No grants will be awarded to projects completed prior to the application
process (i.e. a project completed last year).
- We cannot fund expenses for the granting process itself.
- Grants for art projects will not exceed $500 per project.
The Board of Directors will review all reasonable grants and will make the final
award decisions by September, 2009. All projects must be completed within one
school year.
We request that art projects be documented and photographed, and that we be
allowed to use the documentations to promote the Chalk The Walk – Mira Mesa
Art Festival and art education in our community.
Please complete the Grant Request for Art Projects by the end of June 2009.
